BIO
David Pilkenton (b. 1988, Baltimore) is a watercolor artist whose work explores stillness, embodiment, and quiet psychological landscapes. Working primarily on large scale cotton paper, his paintings favor restrained palettes of greys, greens, browns, and blues, allowing subtle shifts in tone, layering, and atmosphere to carry emotional weight. His practice is slow and meditative, treating painting as both a material and perceptual discipline.

David is the co-founder of Official Ritual, a sound meditation studio in New York City, where he works with vibration, sound, + silence. His visual art emerges from the same sensibility, translating spaciousness and internal quiet into form. Rather than narrative or symbolism, his paintings invite prolonged looking and a felt experience of presence.

Before committing fully to his art practice, David worked as an architectural and interior designer specializing in hospitality environments. That background continues to inform his sensitivity to space, proportion, and how bodies move through environments. He lives and works in Manhattan.
