INFORMATION
The medium is unpredictable, and working with it means letting go of control.
Each piece demands I stay present and adapt as it moves between abstraction + literal what I intended + chance.
My background is in energy healing (natural) and architecture (forced). One taught me how to listen + flow; the other taught me how to shape with focus (and sometimes force). As I constantly feel the tension between these two concepts in my everyday life, I think my work holds both.
Each time I paint, it forces me to meditate and bring these two parts of myself together in harmony.
Alongside his painting practice, he is the co-founder of Official Ritual, a sound meditation studio in New York City dedicated to the transformative power of the gong.
He lives and works in Manhattan.
